NGO for Physically Challenged in Mumbai

Lonely and forlorn – every night and morn
Gazing into emptiness – Forever friendless
Loveless existence – know not whence
Cursed longevity – oh! What a pity

Imagine yourself in their shoes for a fraction of a second. The only sin they committed and continue to commit is the fact that they are alive; their longevity beyond the years of their prime, has become their curse and reduced them to loneliness.

Rejected by their own kin, they pass their days staring into nothingness; some of them spend festivals looking hopefully at the door for some loved one to come and visit them… most of their hopes end in vain.

Vday

Volunteers from 1Step L&T Infotech participating in Valentines Day celebrations with elderly at Adharwad.

Valentine’s day, a day of love, camaraderie and youthful gaiety is unimaginable for them, But 1step Mahape’s infonights and Adharwad’s Sangita ji thought otherwise. Students from Project Swayam (community computer center by 1Step at Turbhe-Navi Mumbai) also joined them in this noble endeavor.

They decorated the home, gave presents, read stories and shared love. The senior citizens felt wanted, cherished and happy…

The day passed off beautifully; it however left everyone, including the young students wished that they could make every day a valentine’s day for those lovely but lonely people…
